Born in Leicestershire, UK in 1992, Amy Hughes spent her years growing up between Cheshire, UK and Moscow, Russia. In 2013 she received a degree in Fine Art from Liverpool Hope University, UK. At her Undergraduate Show, she was awarded the 'Purchase Prize' by the Liverpool Women's Hospital, where a painting can be found in private collection.

In 2016, she graduated from the MFA program at the New York Academy of Art in New York City. During her studies, she was awarded an Academy Merit Scholarship and HRH The Prince of Wales Scholarship (MFA 2016). Since graduating, Amy has continued to exhibit her work in both solo and group shows, including a Residency in the UK and working as an Instructor of painting - both in the UK and at the New York Academy of Art. Most notably, she was a finalist in the Westminster Kennel Club painting competition in New York City and has sold work at Sotheby's Auction House, NY. Her work has been featured in several publications, some of which include; Purple Fashion Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, Aesthetica, The Northwich Guardian and Cheshire Life.
